One school. One association. One initiative.
The School
Queen's College Boys' High School
Founded in 1858, Queen's College is one of South Africa's oldest and most respected schools, with a rich heritage of producing leaders from the Eastern Cape. A holistic, values-based education in a caring environment, striving to be the boarding school of choice in South Africa.
The Association
Queen's College Old Boys' Association
The Old Boys' Association is the global network of Queenians past and present, and the custodian of the Queen's College Old Boys' Trust, under which Kudu Initiative operates as a subsidiary initiative.
The Initiative
Kudu Initiative
Founded in 2024, Kudu Initiative is the dedicated fundraising body of Kudu Foundation, created to build sustainable, B-BBEE-compliant funding for Queen's College and to deliver the projects that Vision 175 & Beyond demands.
An Allan Gray placement school.
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation runs the largest high school scholarship programme of its kind for talented, deserving South African students, and it is the strictest in the country about the schools it partners with: the capacity of the school, the academics of the school, and the school's proven ability to form young people into both global citizens and change makers in South Africa.
Queen's College was vetted against that standard and chosen. Through a Kudu Initiative project, the school is now an official placement school of the Foundation: each Scholar is fully funded, tuition, boarding, books, uniform and allowance, and each candidate is interviewed and approved by the placement school itself before a scholarship is awarded. Queen's College is one of only 33 partner schools in the country trusted with that responsibility.
